Led by Devon Schlegel, MA, ATR-BC, LMHC, LPC
This strengths-based program will encourage students to explore self-esteem and self-image through visual journaling and a final painting project. Students will use artmaking, collage and journaling as a means of exploring their own sense of self and discovering what makes them unique. Google Classroom will be used for all course communication. Classes will be held on Zoom.
CAP will provide most supplies needed for this course. Families should have a pair of scissors and paper available at home.

Art Therapy Fellow
Devon provides art as therapy-based programs at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. When not leading group directives, she mentors and supports CAP teaching artists on working with children with varying exceptionalities, including how to implement and teach mindfulness in the classroom. Devon is a board-certified art therapist and licensed mental health counselor, and in her spare time she teaches yoga and is an abstract painter. Devon joined the CAP team in 2020 as the first full-time art therapy fellow.
