Led by Joshua Stone
This course is designed for students with little to no knowledge of or experience with violin, viola, cello or double-bass instruments. Students will learn basic instrument care and maintenance, as well as how to hold the instrument. Once students can play by plucking the strings, they will be introduced to the bow. Those who enroll in this course are expected to enroll for all remaining quarters. Google Classroom will be used for all course communication. Classes will be held on Zoom.
If your child is younger than third grade and you wish to enroll, please contact email@example.com.
CAP will provide all supplies needed for this course. Students requiring an instrument must attend supply pick-up to be measured for an instrument.
String Teaching Artist Fellow
Joshua provides string instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to teaching string courses, he provides administrative support to the Program Team and leads the CAP String Orchestra. Joshua began playing violin in middle school and has performed and participated in masterclasses with many of today’s leading artists and ensembles. His goal is to offer all children equal opportunities to play string instruments, no matter their background or location. Joshua joined the CAP team in 2019 as the first full-time string teaching artist fellow.
