Grades 5-12

January 19 – February 26
Saturdays (twice monthly) | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Led by String Teaching Artist Fellow Joshua Stone

Prerequisites | Current or previous CAP string student, or student with two or more years of experience playing violin, viola, cello or double-bass. Requires audition and teaching artist approval – contact for more information.

The CAP String Orchestra is an ensemble of current and former CAP string students who collaborate, perform and further their understanding of classical and contemporary music. Participation in the CAP String Orchestra may include performance opportunities, as safety allows, for the entire ensemble, as well as smaller chamber ensembles based on skill and dedication. CAP will continue to assess when and how to resume in-person performances safely. Those who enroll in this course are expected to participate for the entire year. Students must audition to participate. Rehearsals will be held twice monthly on Saturdays at The Ritz Theatre and Museum in Downtown Jacksonville. Masks and social distancing measures will be required.

Students are asked to provide their own instrument for this course; however, CAP can provide instruments if needed. Contact for more information.
