Grades K-2
Art Adventures at Julington Creek Plantation
Led by Amelia Ruddell
In-Person
Young artists, ages 4-7, will embark on a colorful adventure where creativity knows no bounds! This course opens the door to a world of artistic exploration, where imagination and self-expression take flight. Students will discover the joy of creating with a variety of materials – from vibrant paints and markers to collage papers and natural elements – learning how to bring their unique ideas to life through art.
Children will develop their artistic confidence as they experiment with colors, shapes, and patterns. Each project invites them to observe the world around them, think creatively, and express their ideas in their own special way. Through both individual and collaborative projects, they’ll build valuable skills that spark joy and nurture their creative spirit. Students will discover their artistic voice while creating cheerful masterpieces that celebrate their growing imagination!
Ages 4-7
This program is for JCPCDD residents/members only.

Amelia Ruddell
Teaching Artist in Visual Arts
Amelia is an impressionist painter and art instructor. Growing up, she loved dancing and performed in the Nutcracker seven years in a row. While earning her Bachelor of Arts in dance at the University of Georgia, Amelia discovered a love of painting. What began as a hobby became a daily practice to process her grief after the devastating losses of two of her children. In 2022, she became a professional painter, and now enjoys teaching art to others to help them find their creative process, too. Amelia joined the CAP team in 2025.
