Ballet at Cornerstone Classical

Students must be enrolled at Cornerstone Classical Academy to register for this course. In this beginner-level program, students will learn the fundamentals of ballet, as well as develop muscle memory and learn rhythm, coordination, musicality and choreography through age-appropriate movement and music. This dance program seeks to nurture students as movers, thinkers, creators and performers as they investigate and experiment with movement, learn the fundamentals of dance technique, build and choreograph dances.
In-person courses will follow the school’s schedule for holidays and school closures.

Dance Teaching Artist Fellow
Jackie provides dance instruction to multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to leading students in the classroom, she will also be responsible for planning and supervising class field trips, guest artist visits and performance opportunities at CAP sites and throughout the Jacksonville community. Jackie has taught dance for more than 20 years, including 10 years as a part-time teaching artist for CAP and seven years with Duval County Public Schools. She is the owner and director of C&J Performing Arts which offers instruction in ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern and tap for participants of all ages.
