CAP String Orchestra
Led by Joshua Stone
Students must audition to participate. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Current and former CAP string students, ages 11-18, will collaborate, perform and further their understanding of classical and contemporary music. Participation may include performance opportunities, as safety allows, for the entire ensemble, as well as smaller chamber ensembles based on skill and dedication.
Rehearsals will be held twice monthly on Saturdays at the Ritz Theatre and Museum in Downtown Jacksonville. Students are asked to provide their own instrument for this course; however, CAP can rent instruments if needed.
Those who enroll in this course are expected to participate for the entire year.
String Teaching Artist Fellow
Joshua provides string instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to teaching string courses, he provides administrative support to the Program Team and leads the CAP String Orchestra. Joshua began playing violin in middle school and has performed and participated in masterclasses with many of today’s leading artists and ensembles. His goal is to offer all children equal opportunities to play string instruments, no matter their background or location. Joshua joined the CAP team in 2019 as the first full-time string teaching artist fellow.
