Summer Dance Camp – Sessions 1 & 2
Led by Winter Bosanko
This free summer dance camp is for students entering grades 3-5 and features two sessions. Students are welcome to register for both sessions. No previous dance experience is necessary.
Students should wear comfortable clothing they can move in. Don’t forget to bring water. A small snack will be provided each day.
Families are invited to attend a Friday showcase to see what students have learned throughout the week!

Session 1 | Ballet & Modern
Dates: June 6 – 10
Teaching Artists: Winter Bosanko and Jacqueline Peterson
Led by CAP dance teaching artists and a special guest from the Florida Ballet, students will learn ballet and modern dance techniques, as well as perform dances in this fun-filled week where no previous training is required.
Session 2 | Jazz & Hip-Hop
Dates: June 13 – 17
Teaching Artists: Winter Bosanko and Jacqareon Peterson-Thomas
Led by a CAP dance teaching artist and a special guest from the Jacksonville Dance Theatre, students will learn jazz and hip-hop dance techniques, as well as perform dances in this fun-filled week where no previous training is required.
Dance Teaching Artist Fellow
Winter provides dance instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. When not working directly with students, she assists the Program Team in an administrative role and leads an arts-integrated movement and robotics program in partnership with Shiva Robotics Academy. Winter is the founder and artistic director of Winter Dance Projects and has been choreographing, performing and teaching dance since 2013. She has both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dance and teaches everything from creative movement to professional level dance. Winter joined CAP in 2020 as the first full-time dance teaching artist fellow.
Dance Teaching Artist
Jacqueline (Jackie) Peterson is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. She is a graduate of Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and holds a degree in Dance Education from Jacksonville University and a Fine Arts Degree from Florida State College of Jacksonville. She has been teaching dance for over 20 years to all ages and all styles. She is now teaching dance to elementary and middle school students in Duval County Public Schools. Jackie joined the CAP team in 2013.
Dance Teaching Artist
Jacqareon Peterson-Thomas started dancing at a young age and began her formal training at age 12 as a student at LaVilla School of the Arts. She earned an associate in arts degree in dance and has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, African, contemporary and lyrical dance. Jacqareon taught at Little Dancing Stars for several years and currently teaches ballet and hip hop at C&J Performing Arts Institute and Learning Center. She joined CAP as a part-time teaching artist in 2021.
