This course is designed for students preparing to audition for a string program at LaVilla School of the Arts, Fort Caroline Middle School of the Visual and Performing Arts, or Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. Students will work on repertoire required for the audition and participate in mock virtual auditions. Google Classroom will be used for all course communication. Classes will be held on Zoom.
Students are expected to have their own instrument; however, CAP can supply one if needed. CAP will provide all supplies needed for this course. Students requiring an instrument must attend supply pick-up to be measured for an instrument.

String Teaching Artist Fellow
Joshua provides string instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to teaching string courses, he provides administrative support to the Program Team and leads the CAP String Orchestra. Joshua began playing violin in middle school and has performed and participated in masterclasses with many of today’s leading artists and ensembles. His goal is to offer all children equal opportunities to play string instruments, no matter their background or location. Joshua joined the CAP team in 2019 as the first full-time string teaching artist fellow.
