Music Technology at James Weldon Johnson

Students must be enrolled at James Weldon Johnson College Preparatory Middle School to register for this course. Students will be introduced to the study of music technology and music fundamentals, including instrument and equipment care and how to read and write music. Students will learn to create and capture sounds and use technology to manipulate, edit and produce a final product to achieve specific artistic and functional goals.
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.
Dance Teaching Artist Fellow
Winter provides dance instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. When not working directly with students, she assists the Program Team in an administrative role and leads an arts-integrated movement and robotics program in partnership with Shiva Robotics Academy. Winter is the founder and artistic director of Winter Dance Projects and has been choreographing, performing and teaching dance since 2013. She has both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dance and teaches everything from creative movement to professional level dance. Winter joined CAP in 2020 as the first full-time dance teaching artist fellow.
