Visual Arts at Don Brewer

In-Person
Students must be enrolled at Don Brewer Elementary School to register for this course. This course introduces students to the elements of art and principles of design, which are the building blocks of creating a work of art. At the same time, students are introduced to various media and production skills and are encouraged to think critically and creatively. Students will work individually and collaboratively.
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Hayden Palmer
Visual Arts Teaching Artist
Hayden Palmer is a Jacksonville-based sculptor and artist. He holds a master’s degree in Asian Studies, with a focus on Chinese History and Mandarin, from Florida State University. Hayden is the co–founder of the alternative theater troupe Glitterbomb, which has performed throughout Jacksonville, including at MOCA Jacksonville and the Museum of Science and History. He was named Best Visual Artist in 2021 by Folio Weekly Magazine. Hayden joined CAP as a part-time teaching artist in 2021.
