Important Information for Parents & Guardians

Permission Slips

Permission slips will be shared digitally with families. If you still need to submit one for your student, click here. Permission slips must be completed no later than March 31.

Please note on the permission slip if you will take your student home from the venue, or if you will pick up your student from their school after Showcase. If you plan to take your student home from the venue, view the dismissal procedures below.

Transportation & Rehearsal

All students will ride the bus from their school to the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts for a rehearsal before their performance. Teaching artists will provide information on when to meet at the school for transportation to the venue. Please ensure your student arrives on time and has everything they need, including costumes, shoes (no flip-flops), makeup, instruments, etc.

Parking

Free parking will be available in the VyStar Tower Garage at the corner of Hogan St. and Bay St. Click here for a map.

Dismissal

Students may ride the bus back to their school or be picked up by a parent or guardian at the venue after the performance. Students will be dismissed at specified locations and must be signed out by a parent or guardian. Click here to view dismissal information.

To make this process as quick and easy as possible, we ask that you do not crowd around the dismissal doors to allow all families the opportunity to sign out their student(s).

Please note: NO students will be dismissed early, and families are not allowed backstage at any time. All performances will be photographed and photos will be made available to all families on CAP’s Facebook page.
