Visual Arts at Jacksonville Classical Academy

Students must be enrolled at Jacksonville Classical Academy to register for this course.
Young artists will discover the magic behind great art – and create their own! This course unveils the elements of art and principles of design – just some of the ingredients that bring artwork to life. Students will explore a variety of media and learn production skills, all while flexing their critical thinking and creative muscles. Inner artists will be unleashed through solo work and as part of a creative team!
In-person courses will follow the school’s schedule for holidays and school closures.

Lindsay Bowyer
Teaching Artist Fellow in Visual Arts
Lindsay provides visual arts instruction at multiple sites throughout the year. In addition to executing programs in diverse learning settings, she develops innovative and engaging art projects and coordinates community engagement and guest artist experiences for her students. She is a two-time University of North Florida graduate and remains active in creating works in textile art and art historical research. A lifelong creative, Lindsay visited her first museum at age 9 and has loved them ever since. Lindsay joined CAP as a part-time teaching artist in 2022 and became a full-time teaching artist fellow in 2024.
