TheΒ CAP Dance Ensemble is comprisedΒ of current and former CAP dance students in grades 4-8. Students chosen for the ensemble have the opportunity to further their understanding of classical and contemporary dance through collaboration and performance.Β
The CAP Dance Ensemble is a dynamic program where both CAP and non-CAP dancers can pursue their passion across diverse dance styles while honing their technical abilities. Through rigorous training and performance opportunities, dancers developΒ their artistic character and stage presence.Β Collaboration with guest artists for specialized workshops and choreography enriches the dancersβ artistic growthΒ and opens doors of opportunity to local and national dance competitions and performances. Comprehensive preparation for auditions, access to intensive programs and broad skill developmentΒ openΒ pathways towardΒ professional dance careersΒ for those who seek it.Β
Rehearsals will be held twice monthly on Saturdays at the Cathedral Arts Project 2nd Floor Classroom in Downtown Jacksonville: 207 N. Laura Street, Suite 200 | Jacksonville, FL 32202
Those who enroll in the dance ensemble are expected to participate for the entire year.

Jacqueline Peterson
Teaching Artist Fellow in Dance
Jacqueline provides dance instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to leading students in the classroom, she is responsible for planning and supervising class field trips, guest visits and performance opportunities for her students at CAP sites and throughout the community. Jacqueline has taught dance for more than 20 years and is the owner and director of C&J Performing Arts, which offers instruction in ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern and tap for participants of all ages. She joined CAP as a part-time teaching artist in 2012 and became a full-time dance teaching artist fellow in 2022.Β
