Dance at Chaffee Trail

Students must be enrolled at Chaffee Trail Elementary School to register for this course. Students will develop muscle memory and learn rhythm, coordination, musicality and choreography through age-appropriate movement and music. This modern dance program seeks to nurture students as movers, thinkers, creators and performers as they investigate and experiment with movement, learn the fundamentals of dance technique, build and choreograph dances, and present and perform their learning for others at the annual Performing Arts Showcase.
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Taylor Baines
Dance Teaching Artist
Taylor Baines began dancing at the age of 3 at Jacksonville Centre of the Arts. She attended Lavilla School of the Arts, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, went on to the State University of New York at Purchase College and ultimately earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Jacksonville University. Taylor has worked with professional dancers and choreographers including Mia Michaels, Arturo Fernandez, Jennifer Archibald and many more. She has taught at Jacksonville Centre of the Arts and Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and is a current member of the Roar of the Jaguars Cheerleaders. Taylor joined the CAP team in 2023.
