Students must be enrolled at Enterprise Learning Academy to register for this course.
Students will take theirΒ string skills to the next level. This course is designed for budding violinists, violists, cellists and bassists who’ve already got a handle on the basics. Theyβll dive deeper into the world of strings and explore more advanced music theory. Students will challenge themselves, grow as musicians and explore a broad palette of musical expression!
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Joshua Stone
Teaching Artist Fellow in Strings
Joshua provides string instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to teaching string courses, he provides administrative support to the Program Team and leads the CAP String Orchestra. Joshua began playing violin in middle school and has performed and participated in masterclasses with many of todayβs leading artists and ensembles. His goal is to offer all children equal opportunities to play string instruments, no matter their background or location. Joshua joined CAP as a part-time teaching artist in 2013 and became the first full-time teaching artist fellow in 2019.
