Young musicians will embark on a journey through the world of sound in this lively music course! Students will explore the building blocks of music, from catchy rhythms to soaring melodies, through fun and interactive activities. Budding instrumentalists will get hands-on experience with a variety of instruments, learning to play together in harmony. Through games, movement, and creative exercises, students will develop their sense of pitch, timing, and musical expression. Students will challenge themselves, grow as musicians and explore a broad palette of musical expression!
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Teaching Artist in Music
Skyler is an experienced music teacher and received his bachelor’s in music performance from Edward Waters University. He is the music director of Highlands Estates Academy, specializing in general music with a focus on instrumental education. Skyler believes music is a universal language and the bridge between discipline and excellence. He aspires to be a leader and set an example for his students and peers. Skyler joined the CAP team in 2024.
