Young thespians will dive into the exciting world of theatre arts in this dynamic program! Through creative exercises, they’ll stretch their imaginations, bringing characters and stories to life. As they explore movement and dive into role-play, these budding actors will discover new ways to express themselves. From improv games to scene work, each activity is designed to boost confidence and nurture theatrical talents. Students will also build trust in themselves and their castmates, creating a supportive ensemble where everyone can shine.Β
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Teaching Artist Fellow in Theatre
Β Chelsye provides theatre instruction at multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to leading students in the classroom, she is responsible for planning and supervising class field trips, guest artist visits and performance opportunities at CAP sites and throughout the Jacksonville community. Chelsye brings over a decade of experience in theatre education, with a rich background that includes developing an award-winning middle school theatre program, working as a teaching artist and delivering arts integration residencies to underserved students. She has been involved in theatre since she was four years old and fell in love with the magic of live theatre after attending a Broadway show. It has remained her biggest passion ever since. She joined the CAP team in 2024.
