Theatre at Jacksonville Heights

Students must be enrolled at Jacksonville Heights Elementary School to register for this course. In this theatre program, students will build and extend their knowledge of the basic concepts of theatre arts. They will use creative theatre techniques to build confidence and trust, stimulate imagination, and explore movement and role-play. Through theatre activities and scene work students will learn to gain trust in themselves as well as others in their groups.
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.
This afterschool program is supported by the Kids Hope Alliance.

Theatre Teaching Artist Fellow
Cobus provides theatre instruction to multiple schools and sites throughout the year. In addition to leading students in the classroom, he is responsible for planning and supervising class field trips, guest artist visits and exhibition opportunities at CAP sites and throughout the Jacksonville community. Cobus was introduced to the arts through a program similar to CAP, which opened a whole new world of possibilities and opportunities. He graduated from Oxford University and has traveled the world for the last 20 years directing, producing and performing.
