Theatre at Spring Park

In-Person
Students must be enrolled at Spring Park Elementary School to register for this course. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of theatre arts. They will use creative theatre techniques to build confidence and trust, stimulate imagination, movement and role-play. Through theatre games and scene work, students will learn to gain trust in themselves as well as others in their groups.
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Marielle Erskine
Theatre Teaching Artist
Marielle Erskine is a Jacksonville local who is proud to continue her work with CAP. She holds a BFA in performance, studying many techniques ranging from musical theatre to film to improvisation. Recently she has performed in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Aristophanes’ Lysistrata. Marielle strives to empower young people with creative processes that enhance their perspective and quality of life. The arts can strengthen a community and she has made it her mission to contribute to that by working with many other nonprofits including the Art League of Jacksonville, Figment Project and the Boys and Girls Club of America. Marielle returned to CAP as a part-time teaching artist in 2021.
