Visual Arts at Abess Park
Led by Denise Banks Clodfelter

Students must be enrolled at Abess Park Elementary School to register for this course. This course introduces students to the elements of art and principles of design, which are the building blocks of creating a work of art. At the same time, students are introduced to various media and production skills and are encouraged to think critically and creatively. Students will work individually and collaboratively.
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Visual Arts Teaching Artist
Denise Clodfelter holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Florida, with a concentration was in painting, drawing and printmaking. She has also studied ceramics, papermaking and sculpture. Before attending UNF, she was a student at Florida State College at Jacksonville where she earned an Excellence in Printmaking award. Denise is a long-time Jacksonville resident and was a founding member of the Riverside Arts Market. She loves sharing her joy of art with her class and enjoys seeing the love of art bloom in her students! Denise joined CAP as a part-time teaching artist in 2022.
