Visual Arts at Kings Trail

Students must be enrolled at Kings Trail Elementary School to register for this course.
Young artists will discover the magic behind great art – and create their own! This course unveils the elements of art and principles of design – just some of the ingredients that bring artwork to life. Students will explore a variety of media and learn production skills, all while flexing their critical thinking and creative muscles. Inner artists will be unleashed through solo work and as part of a creative team!
In-person courses will follow the DCPS schedule for holidays and school closures.

Teaching Artist in Visual Arts
Crystal is a Jacksonville native and received a masters degree in elementary education from the University of North Florida. She is currently in her 12th year in the education field and has a passion for developing and nurturing young minds. Her love for visual arts and literacy is at the core of her heart and it drives her to spread as much knowledge and creativity as possible. In addition to teaching with CAP, she partners with local programs as the lead art teacher such as City Kids Art Factory, YMCA Team Up, and Wright Way to Higher Learning. Crystal re-joined the CAP team in 2024.
