The 20th annual Spring for the Arts – CAP’s signature fundraiser – was held on Friday, April 4, 2025. The event raised a record-breaking $837,100 in support of the organization’s mission to ensure access to vital arts education and therapeutic programs for all children on the First Coast.

Spring for the Arts also celebrates community engagement in support of funding arts education initiatives throughout the region. Frances and Anthony Jabbour were celebrated as the 2025 Guardians of the Arts.

Each year, this event honors distinguished individuals as Guardians of the Arts for their efforts to safeguard and advance the arts. Generating over $9 million since its inception, it is the most visible event supporting arts education along the First Coast.

Research indicates that theatre training for children significantly improves their public speaking skills by building confidence, enhancing vocal projection, developing effective body language and fostering emotional intelligence through character exploration. The practice of performing on stage in a supportive environment helps kids feel comfortable expressing themselves publicly and it's fun! Research from organizations like the Arts Education Partnership, show clear links between arts involvement and positive outcomes in academics, creative and critical thinking, personal behavior and social and civic participation. These benefits reinforce the essential value of the arts to enrich not only individual children and young adults, but also their communities.

Through CAP programs, children and young adults receive quality, standards-based instruction in dance, media arts, music, theatre and visual arts. Learn more at capkids.org. #TheArtsAddUp #CAPkidsjax
