Arts Integrated Field Trips

CAP has partnered with the Kids Hope Alliance, Duval County Public Schools and other local and national cultural institutions to offer high-quality arts integration field trip learning opportunities for students this summer.

Research demonstrates that a single, arts-based field trip initiative for elementary school students is an effective way to introduce students to the arts and help them succeed in school by improving their grades in literacy, math and science. To achieve this, the field trip curriculum connects back to each school’s academic curriculum and addresses the social, emotional, and behavioral goals of the classroom. Additionally, a summer field trip learning packet is distributed to all schools and parents to enrich the overall learning experience for students.

Field trips are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Multiple opportunities may be selected, as participation in several outings is encouraged to allow students diverse cultural experiences this summer.

Attendance requires CAP’s Field Trip Permission Slips, available at the March 15th professional development event or as a PDF to print at your convenience after registration. Extra forms can be made available at the CAP offices in downtown Jacksonville. Completed forms must be submitted to CAP at least 10 days before the trip via scan/email or hand delivery. Participating sites must keep copies for essential contact info. CAP will reimburse transportation costs using a reimbursement form provided after trips.
