Grades 5-9
CAP Theatre Co. | Fall Session: Stage Makeup Workshop
Led by Julia Veiga
In-Person
While Florida’s seasons may seem to blur together, this CAP Theatre Company workshop brings them vividly to life through the art of character makeup. Students will explore how design choices in color, texture and form can transform a face into a character inspired by the changing seasons: crisp winter frost, golden autumn leaves or a grinning jack-o’-lantern.
Each student will sketch original character concepts on paper, then learn the theatrical techniques to bring those designs to life. Every look is documented in a personal artist’s portfolio, building toward a final showcase where students will present their portfolio and execute one of their designs from the coursework to share with family and friends.
Base materials are provided. Items like makeup remover, mascara, eye and lip products are optional purchases, but not necessary.
CAP has partnered with Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church for this program. Classes will be held at 4001 Hendricks Avenue, 32207.
