For its performances from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and “Capriccio Espagnol” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, the group earned a superior rating and the Best Overall Orchestra award, the competition’s highest honors for an orchestra. This was the first time CAPSO had competed in the Music in the Parks competition.
“Universal was fun,” said N’Diyah, a CAPSO violist. “it was a great experience going on the rides and performing for our peers at the competition.”
“My experience at Universal Orlando’s Music in the Parks was eye-opening,” said CAPSO cellist Leo. “CAP helps provide meaningful experiences for students, and it was a great trip!”
Performances took place at Celebration High School on the morning of March 15, followed by an awards presentation at Universal CityWalk that evening.
