Opening Reception: The Stories Within, Tiffany Manning

November 7, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join the Cathedral Arts Project on Thursday, November 7, for the opening reception of The Stories Within by Tiffany Manning.

“The Stories Within will take you on a journey into the depths of my imagination where magical worlds and beings are sparked to life through the use of color and movement.”

From the Artist
Movement and motion are captured on the canvas in that first layer of paint. It is from there that I study the shapes to find the deeper storyline within, which becomes the theme of the piece.

Sometimes my imagination expands that initial storyline into a fully formed narrative of the lives that may exist within the world of the painting. From there, a visual journey begins, and in collaboration with my daughter, an illustrated children’s book emerges.

About the Artist
Tiffany Manning is a contemporary fine artist and portrait photographer based in Jacksonville, Florida. Her drive to create is fueled by a lifelong fascination with energy–specifically the way it moves through people to form the connective tissue that weaves our world together. Aspects of energy rooted somewhere between science and spirit are what excite her the most.

Coupled with a process heavily influenced by music and dance, Tiffany creates an environment which allows her to surrender and simply be present with the canvas. There is a palpable energetic presence coursing through her work that is deeply grounded in joy and happiness, because that is what she hopes to leave behind long after the work is done.
