CAP has announced Amy and Gary Norcross as the 2023 Guardians of the Arts for their efforts to safeguard and advance the arts along the First Coast. The Norcrosses will be recognized at the 18th annual Spring for the Arts, on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club.
The Rev. Kimberly L. Hyatt was hired in October of 2002 as the first executive director of CAP when it was a small organization serving a few hundred students per year. Now, under her continued leadership of CAP, tens of thousands of children living in Jacksonville have learned to sing, play, dance, act and create with confidence.

CAP student William Bell was awarded 2nd prize at the Crescendo International Music Competition, a youth music nonprofit that aims to inspire individuals to pursue their passion for music. As a prize winner, William was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The Cathedral Arts Project has been approved for a $100,000 Grants for Arts Projects award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to continue and extend its Landscape of Education in the Arts in Duval (LEAD) initiative. This work has enabled CAP to gather data on arts education opportunities in all Duval County public schools and map the data on the artlook® map.
On Monday, October 4, the Cathedral Arts Project held the 5th Annual CAP Golf Tournament, presented by Fickling Construction, at Deerwood Country Club. The event, chaired by CAP board member Alan Fickling, exceeded its goal and raised $116,500 in support of arts education for children in Northeast Florida.
